Daily excursions:
Lake Garda – round trip: approx. 350 km, return journey.
We drive onto the Brenner Pass Motorway to Rovereto. From here to Torbole and along the Eastern shore of Lake Garda. Return journey through the Sarca Valley, passing Lake Tobolino, then to Trient and back to Bozen Nord (motorway exit). From here, we drive back to Barbian.
Medium Dolomite tour: approx. 200 km
Through the Eggen Valley to the Karer Pass, along the foot of the Rosegarden and the Latemar. Descent to the Fassa Valley, to Canazei, the Pordoi Saddleback, Campolongo Pass and Corvara. Then via the Val Gardena Saddleback, through Val Gardena to Waidbruck and then Barbian.
Penegal – Mendel – Lake Kaltern: approx. 60 km
The Penegal is one of the look-out mountains with very interesting panoramic views, which is well-known in all Alpine regions. Descent to Kaltern, along the sharp bends of the Mendelstrasse to the Mendel Pass. Return journey on the Mendelstrasse to Kaltern. Drive to Lake Kaltern, back to Bozen and then Barbian.
Venice: approx. 300 km
Attractions are the Doge’s palace, St. Marc’s Square, the Canale Grande with the Rialto Bridge, the San Marco Basilica (cathedral). Drive along the Etsch Valley, on the Brenner Pass motorway to Verona, Padua and Venice. Return journey through the Valsugana Valley to Pergine, Bozen and then Barbian.
Ritten
The Ritten is a high plateau near Bozen, well-known through its interesting earth pyramids, as well as a network of forest walking trails and its panoramic views onto the Dolomites. Drive via Saubach, Lengstein, Klobenstein, possibly along the Oberinn, Wangen and to the Sarn Valley, then via the Penser Saddleback to Sterzing and back to Brixen, Klausen and Barbian.
Seiser Alm with Val Gardena
The highest Alpine meadows in the Alpine region. Slightly hilly and surrounded by magnificent mountain groups; an ideal hiking area in the summer and a ski paradise in the winter. Drive via Waidbruck to the Seiser Alm. Return journey to Kastelruth via the Panieder Saddleback to St. Ulrich in Vla Gardena, then to Waidbruck und Barbian.
Large Dolomite tour
Drive via Waidbruck, Sellajoch, Pordoijoch, Falzarego Pass, Cortina d`Ampezzo, Lake Misurina, Toblach, Bruneck, Mühlbach, Brixen, Klausen, Waidbruck and Barbian.
Würzjoch mountain at the foot of the Peitlerkofel
Drive via Waidbruck, Klausen, Brixen, St. Andrä, Afers, Würzjoch, Untermoi, entrance to the Gaden Valley to St. Lorenzen. Return journey via the Puster Valley to Brixen, Klausen, Waidbruck and Barbian.
Bozen
Saturday street market. Visit of the Ötzi museum.
Meran
Friday street market. Drive via Waidbruck, Bozen and Meran. Tour through the town centre with market. Return journey via the Tschögglberg, Hafling, Mölten, Jenesien and Bozen to Barbian.
Sterzing
Drive via Waidbruck, Klausen, Brixen and Sterzing. Tour through the town centre. Then to Stange. Short walk through the interesting Gilfenklamm and then back to Sterzing, Brixen and Klausen to Barbian.
